The research group Conference Board announced a weak growth in US consumer confidence in May, the index, which reflects it, rose to 95.4 points from 94.3 in April. Analysts predicted the index to reach only 95 points. The company commented that despite the improvement in the current conditions in the second quarter, consumers still remain cautious about their expectations for the future development of the economy in the short term.
